Olympia Dukakis in
Martin Sherman’s ROSE
"Concert Reading"

Saturday, October 25 • 7:30 PM
Member single tickets begin August 4.
Public sales begin September 29.

Oscar winner (“Moonstruck”) and Broadway favorite Olympia Dukakis brings her moving one-woman show, ROSE, to the Cowan Center. It’s the gripping and inspiring story of a Ukrainian-born Jew who survived the horrors of the Warsaw Ghetto by living in a sewer even though her family was lost in the Holocaust. The play premiered in London in 2000 after British playwright Martin Sherman created ROSE with Ms. Dukakis in mind. Come experience this 80-year old’s incredible life-journey winding through war-torn Warsaw, a trip to Palestine on the ill-fated ship Exodus, to the borscht belts of post-war Atlantic City and ultimately to modern-day Miami Beach. It is a story of survival and hope, and a superb theatrical performance. Suitable for mature audiences, adults only. SEE VIDEO
